This has probably been one of the best 24 hour periods since NICU admission. Henry has taken all of his feeds in the past day without needing the tube. Today’s feedings were a little slower, but he still hung in there. Docs came by today and were very pleased with his progress and they decided to take the tube out!

Because his feeding issues are all that’s kept him here, they are planning on discharging him Monday. We will room in Saturday night and after final tests and approvals, he should be good to go. I know this is only one of many hurdles we’re going to have to get over, but I’m so proud of him! Henry has already shown us that he is in charge and will do things in his own time. I know God will give us the strength, wisdom and patience we need to be the best possible parents for him.
